National Women's Month

March honors National Women’s Month in the Philippines. It celebrates women's strength, achievements, and key roles in families, schools, workplaces, and society as a whole. Events across the country feature inspiring talks, exhibits, fairs, workshops, and fun activities that focus on gender equality, empowerment, and breaking barriers. These gatherings remind us of women's past struggles and ongoing wins, from voting rights to leadership in business and politics.

At Ilocos Sur National High School, we took part with energy and pride. Assemblies brought everyone together for speeches on women's history. Poster contests let students draw powerful messages about equality and respect. Teachers shared real-life stories of Filipina heroes—our own dedicated educators, strong mothers who juggle jobs and home life, and figures like Josefa Llanes Escoda or modern leaders in government. Classmates performed lively skits on women's rights, acted out family scenes, and joined group talks about past and present icons. We even made crafts and pledges to support each other daily. These hands-on moments made the lessons stick and showed women's impacts up close.

Women’s Month inspires boys and girls alike to support and uplift one another. It fits perfectly with our community's warm spirit, just like in Kannawidan Festival dances or Valentine's school events. Recognizing women's quiet and bold contributions builds a stronger, fairer Ilocos Sur for all. Simple acts of thanks today lead to bigger changes tomorrow.
