Kanawidan Festival

The Kannawidan Festival, or Ilocos Sur Festival, ended its 2026 edition after 12 days in early February. It filled Vigan and other towns with energy from heritage shows, faith events, and community gatherings. Crowds enjoyed a mix of traditional and modern activities that highlighted the province's spirit.

Main events included grand parades with thousands marching in dashing and colorful outfits. Street dancing contests brought lively performances from schools and groups. Trade fairs displayed local foods like Ube Vinegar, handmade crafts, and products from small businesses. Beauty pageants, and many more activities of the kanawidan drew families and visitors.

Other highlights featured concerts by popular artists, an amazing drone light shows at night, and Eucharistic processions for faith. These brought people together in prayer, fun, and pride. For students at Ilocos Sur National High School, it linked school life to culture through dances and fairs.
