My Short Vigan Fiesture

Hello everyone! I made my way to Vigan City on Jan 23-24, 2026 for the celebration of Longganisa Festivcal. I was very excited to spend some time out with friends but even with my limited amount of time to go out and attend the festival, I caught some cool moments amid those familiar cobblestone streets and Spanish houses. Here's my personal take.

I started my adventure to attend the parade that went around Vigan City. Groups of people, dancers and band member shows great synergy and energy. Their Performance was insane and very fulfilling to watch mixing the loud drums and a variety of instruments and the choreography. Right after that a showdown of all performers arise, people cheer, dancers dance, and band beats. Every competitor showed great performance but one stood out. The Ilocos Sur National High School takes the crown as the champions.

                 

The next day after the final days of the exam, I tagged along with some friends and planned to attend the concert. There was still a few hours before it starts so we went ahead to eat and when the time comes what appeared before us was not a concert but a battle-a battle of talented local individuals. People sing along and the vibe was so amazing, it shows that music can connect the hearts of the community. However I was only able to stay until 9:30pm so I missed the whole event because my parents don't want me to be out for too long especially at night.     

I heard that there's more of the event than what I witnessed like it's just the tip of the ice burg. I missed so much of the hype especially Gigi. I really, really regret not asking my parents for more time to attend the event so I'm hoping I could watch the whole event not just a day or two worth of content in the future with my friends.
